Abstract
This Regional Law regulates relations in the sphere of fisheries, fishery management, conservation of aquatic biological resources, rational management thereof, reproduction and maintenance of biological diversity. Fisheries shall be classified as follows: (a) industrial; and (b) artisanal and sport (Art. 1). Legal and natural persons shall be also authorized to carry out fisheries for scientific research, control, learning, cultural, educational, stock enhancement and acclimatization purposes (Art. 7). Industrial fisheries shall be carried out by individual entrepreneurs and legal persons of species for which total allowable catch is set and also of species for which total allowable catch is not set provided that fisheries of such species are not prohibited by the law (Art. 9). Artisanal and sport fishing in waterbodies allocated for organization of artisanal and sport fishing shall be carried out in accordance with fishing permit (Art. 11). Industrial fisheries shall be carried out in accordance with contract for use of fishing area and fishing permit (Art. 17).
