Regional Law No. 52-ZO “On legal regulation of some issues related to pedigree stockbreeding.”

This Regional Law regulates relations in the field of pedigree stockbreeding, including delimitation of powers of regional executive bodies in the aforesaid field, and also measures of state support thereof. Regional Government shall have the following powers: (a) establishes authorized regional state executive body in the field of pedigree stockbreeding; and (b) validates state programs in the field of pedigree stockbreeding. Authorized state regional body shall have the following powers: (a) elaboration and implementation of regional state programs in the field of pedigree stockbreeding; (b) grants state support measures for activities in the field of pedigree stockbreeding; (c) performs expertise of pedigree stockbreeding; (d) keeps state herd book; (d) summarizes data on grading and informs stakeholders on its results in order to stimulate the effective use of high value breeding animals; and (e) promotes scientific research in the field of pedigree stockbreeding. The measures of state support in the field of pedigree stockbreeding shall be as follows: (a) subsidies for activities related to pedigree stockbreeding and selection activities; and (b) legal, information, methodical and organizational assistance and extension services.
