Regional Law No. 72-OZ “On re-distribution of some powers in the field of water supply and sewerage between local government and regional state bodies”.

The scope of this Regional Law shall be to improve the quality of water supply and sewerage services and performance of reconstruction and modernization of water and sewage utilities with the introduction of modern technologies and equipment. It re-distributes some powers in the field of water supply and sewerage between local government and regional state bodies. Local government shall be responsible for: (a) organization of cold water supply; (b) appointment of the authorized organization responsible for cold water supply; (c) coordination of putting out of operation of the centralized cold water supply and sewage system for repairs; (d) validation of technical terms of reference for investment programs for the organizations responsible for cold water supply and sewage, and coordination of such programs; and (e) conclusion of contracts for regulated activities in the field of water supply and sewage.
