Abstract
This Resolution consisting of 15 articles approves the regulation of the National Center for the Prevention and Control of Plant Pests (as any type, strain or biotype of plant or animal organisms or any pathogen for plants or animals) and Animal Diseases (epidemic diseases or Infectious and its vectors according to the classification of the Animal Health Organization). The Center aims (i) to implement what achieves policies to combat pests and animal diseases by taking preventive and curative measures to ensure the health and sustainability of plants and animals; (ii) to enhance the participation of the private sector; and (iii) to unify efforts between government and private agencies in this field. It undertakes the following main tasks (i) developing strategies, plans, programs, initiatives, procedures, and controls in relation to its objectives; (ii) setting the necessary rules for qualifying and licensing service providers; (iii) supervising and controlling the work of service providers through periodic evaluations for them and prompt intervention; (iv) develop emergency plans related to animal pests and diseases; (v) identify, update, and publish potential animal pests and diseases and the extent of their impact and economic damage; (vi) follow up the movements of animal pests and diseases in neighboring countries and during the migration seasons, take the necessary measures, and issue early warnings about it; (vii) develop and update a database of information on animal pests and diseases, and their spread. The Center is composed of a Board of Directors, chaired by the Minister of Environment, including representatives of the Ministries of Interior, Municipal and Rural Affairs, Finance, Health, the National Center for Disease Prevention and Control, Customs, and the Food and Drug General Authority.

This Law enters into force 60 days after its publication in the Official Gazette.
Notes
The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture takes the necessary action regarding the abolition of its Locust and Pest Control Center, after completing the transfer of its powers to the National Center for the Prevention and Control of Plant Pests and Animal Diseases.
