Abstract
These Regulations lay down rules for the establishment and duties of the Pesticides Registration Advisory Committee; procedures and principles for the registration of pesticides; marking or labelling of every container of a pesticide imported, used, sold or supplied; terms and conditions for importation, sale or use of pesticides; prohibition of sale, supply or use of damaged pesticides; and offences and penalties. The Pesticides Registration Advisory Committee shall comprise of members concerned with industrial safety, plant protection, public health and environmental protection. First Schedule to the Regulations set out the method of classification of pesticides by hazards, including herbicides which require caution in use due to hazards to susceptible crops or other plants and insecticides which require caution in use due to hazards to birds, bees and fish.
