Abstract
These Regulations apply to (i) all Solomon islands vessels, notwithstanding Article III of the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers of 1978, as amended in 1995, apply also to fishing vessels; (ii) all seafarers employed on Solomon Islands vessels; (iii) all owners and masters of Solomon Islands vessels; (iv) all Solomon Islands seafarers; (v) all seafarers or holders of certificates recognized and endorsed under the authority of these Regulations.
These Regulations lay down rules as regards control procedures; general offences against these Regulations and the Convention; responsibilities of owners, masters and seafarers; watchkeeping on vessels; manning of vessels; training and certification of seafarers; special training requirements; medical standards; quality standards; reporting requirements; investigations, suspension and cancellation; requirements for marine radio duties; and fees.
