Abstract
These Regulations, made by the Minister of Natural Resources on the advice of the Seychelles Agricultural Agency and the National Biosecurity Committee under section 137 of the Animal and Plant Biosecurity Act, 2014, requires the Agency to comply with "international reporting requirements" i.e. the obligations of the national plant protection organisation to report on the status of pests and diseases to competent international authorities and national authorities of trading partners under the provisions of- (a) the agreement on the application of Sanitary and Phytosanitary measures; (b) the international Plant Protection Convention; and (c) other international and regional agreements and treaties to which Seychelles is signatory. They also concern other international obligations of Seychelles for purposes of plant and animal biosecurity and appoint the Chief Veterinary Officer and the Chief Plant Protection Officer as official contacts.
