Abstract
This Act provides for the control of the production of fishery products intended for exportation. The use, operation of or being in charge of an establishment or a factory vessel where fishery products intended for exportation are prepared, processed, chilled, frozen or stored requires a permit granted by the Director of Veterinary Services. Before the granting of a permit, the applicant shall satisfy the Director that the establishment or vessel meets operating and management requirements as set out by this Act and by the Minister in accordance with the Food Act, the Fisheries Act and other specified Acts. The Act further provides for revocation of permits, variation of conditions of permit, defines powers of authorized officers and offences.
