Green Turtles Protection Regulations, 1976 (S.I. No. 43 of 1967).

Regulation 3 makes provision for the protection of female turtles. Hunting with harpoon is prohibited. Various other restrictions on the hunting of turtles, the taking, the possession and the exportation of turtles are introduced, in particular during the close season. The Minister may grant licenses to catch and rear turtles subject to conditions as the Minister may deem fit.
