Abstract
Turtle is defined in section 2. Section 3 makes provision for the protection of turtles that are smaller than sizes specified for single turtle species. Hunting or sale of undersized turtles is prohibited. Various other restrictions on the hunting of turtles or the taking of turtle eggs are introduced, including us of underwater guns or lights and killing near the high water mark. Only persons having proprietary rights on foreshore and adjacent land may kill or take turtles on that land. Importation or killing of green turtles shall be reported to the appropriate authorities pursuant to section 9. Regulation making powers of the Governor-in-Council are defined in section 11, whereas section 12 grants powers to the Governor-in-Council to declare close seasons.
