Abstract
These Regulations concern principally the power of the Public Utilities Corporation to enter upon private land for the purpose of exercising the functions of the Corporation and carrying out of works (prescribed operations). "Prescribed operation" means in relation to water supply or the provision of sewerage specified waterworks. In certain cases the Corporation shall obtain the approval of the Ministry responsible for Environment before carrying out works. The Regulations also prohibit, subject to certain exceptions, the abstraction of water from any source of supply without the permission of the Corporation and in accordance with such conditions as may be specified by the Corporation. "Source of apply" means - (a) rivers and streams; (b) underground strata; (c) sea water. The Regulations also place restrictions on the pollution of and diversion of water and declare hampering with water supply an offence. No person, other than the Corporation, shall operate any sewage designated sewage disposal works for the purpose of draining works disposal any designated public building except with the approval of the Corporation and in accordance with such conditions as the Corporation may specify.
