Law No. 37 of 1974 on pesticides.

The aim of this Law is to regulate the registration, importation, production and exportation of pesticides. This Law is composed of 5 Sections divided into 18 articles. Section 1 deals with terms and definitions. Section 2 decrees the establishment of the Pesticides Committee. Section 3 provides for the following: (a) pesticides registration and register; (b) scientific experiments and analysis on pesticides; (c) renewal and re-registration of pesticides; and (d) appeals against the revocation or rejection of registration. Section 4 pertains to the following: (a) requirements and conditions for the importation of pesticides; (b) importation of pesticides for scientific purposes; (c) trade in pesticides; (d) pesticides trading shops; (e) production of pesticides; (f) circulation and handling of pesticides; and (g) control on the use of pesticides. Section 5 contains offences and penalties.
