Abstract
This Act declares Chapters 1-9 of the Agreement regarding boundary rivers between Sweden and Finland of 1971 to have the force of law in Sweden. It also contains some provisions regarding competences of Swedish authorities. The Chapters, included in the Schedule to the Act, regulate various matters relative to boundary rivers between Sweden and Finland as defined in article 1 of Chapter 1. A Boundary Rivers Commission is established and its functions and powers are defined. The Schedule contains rules relative to constructions in boundary waters, fishing in boundary waters, use of water, prevention of pollution of water, compensation for damages and procedures of the Commission. The Agreement concerns also fishing in a part of the sea at the mouth of the Torne river. A fish protection zone shall be established at the mouth of that river.
