Regulation on production for marketing, marketing, and import for marketing of forestry materials (SKSFS 2002:2).

The present Regulation, issued by the Swedish Forest Agency, refers to the application of Article 7 of the Forestry Act (1979: 429) and Articles 8, 10 and 10 a of the Decree on Forest Conservation (1993: 1096)(Repealed). It applies to the tree species and artificial hybrids specified in Annex 1. It does not apply to forest cultivation materials that are intended for export or re-export to countries outside the European Union. The Regulation contains the following Chapters: 1. Introduction; 2. Definitions; 3. Areas of origin; 4. Approval of basic material; 5. Issuance of master certificate; 6. Notification of import and export; 7. Marketing of forestry materials; 8. Registration of professionals; 9. Documentation, labelling, etc.; 10. Exceptions.
According to Chapter 4, Article 1, only basic materials that have been approved by the Swedish Forest Agency may be used for the production of forest cultivation materials. Moreover, according to Chapter 6, Article 1, anyone who has brought forestry material from a country outside the European Union shall, no later than two weeks after the material has entered Sweden, submit a notification of the import to the Swedish Forest Agency. Similar obligations apply to imports and exports within the European Union. Further, according to Chapter 7, Article 1, forest cultivation materials may be marketed only if there is a master certificate for the material, issued by a country of the European Union.
