Abstract
This Code is issued under Section 33 of the Sewerage and Drainage Act (Chapter 294). It aims to guide developers, Qualified Persons (QPs) and Licensed Plumbers in planning for sewerage and sanitary plumbing provisions to meet requirements for the developments. This 2019 edition of the Code of Practice on Sewerage and Sanitary Works (COPSSW) incorporate changes and updates made over the years to address new technical issues faced and feedback from the public and industry.
This code contains information on the minimum requirements in the design and construction of sewerage and sanitary works. The requirements stated are also supplementary to the Sewerage and Drainage (Sanitary Works) Regulations. In addition to the minimum requirements, some good engineering practices in the planning, design and construction of the sanitary and sewerage system are also given in this code.
