Abstract
This Act prohibits the use of false trade descriptions for any goods and confers power to the Minister to require informative marking and impose safety requirements, and control or prohibit the supply of goods with respect to which those requirements are not complied with.
The Act further provides for: offences; powers of the Director to require goods for testing or analysis, and enter premises and inspect and seize goods and documents; compensation orders; etc.

An Act to make provisions prohibiting misdescriptions of goods supplied in the course of trade; to confer power to prescribe requirements relating to informative marking and advertisement of goods and to their safe composition, construction or design, and for purposes connected therewith.
