Abstract
This Act regulates the import, export and transit of endangered animals and plants. The Act consists of 4 Parts divided into 30 sections, and of 1 Schedule.
Section 2 includes definitions of terms. Any person who wishes to import, export, re-export or introduce from the sea any of the species listed in the Schedule, shall apply to the Director-General for a permit (sect. 7). Part III contains enforcement powers and penal provisions. The Minister shall establish an Advisory Committee to advise the Director-General on the administration of this Act. The Minister may make rules providing for the issue of permits or provisions relating to the purposes of this Act.

An Act to give effect to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora by controlling the importation, exportation, re-exportation and introduction from the sea of certain animals and plants, and parts and derivatives of such animals and plants, and for matters connected therewith.
