Marine Environment Management Plan for the period 2022 2027.

This Marine Environment Management Plan of the Republic of Slovenia for the period from the year 2022 until the year 2027 is a basic governmental planning documents that is adopted for the purpose of environmentally safe, sustainable and rational management of the national marine environment in general.
The vision of this Plan is to provide an ecosystem approach to the management of the marine environment and to make it a clean, healthy, biodiverse marine environment that is productive and under sustainable use. At the same time, this Plan aims to contribute to adaptation to climate change and its mitigation. The scope of this plan is to ensure the implementation of measures that will pursue the achievement of strategic objectives with related sub-objectives and specific environmental objectives: Strategic objective 1: Clean marine environment (sub-goal 1.1: To keep the marine environment free of nutrients and thus prevent phenomenon of eutrophication; sub-goal 1.2: To ensure that the marine environment will not be overloaded with pollute and preserve the integrity of marine organisms intended for human consumption; sub-goal 1.3: To ensure that the marine environment and the coast will not be overloaded with waste and micro-waste); Strategic objective 2: A biodiverse and healthy environment (sub-goal 2.1: Ensure, protect and preserve marine biodiversity, ecosystem and its services with the aim of ensuring the good condition of species and habitats and reinforcement and resilience of ecosystems); Strategic objective 3: Sustainable use of the marine environment (sub-goal 3.1: Ensure that the use of the marine environment is sustainable through integrated management of current and future activities, including consideration of cumulative measures); Strategic objective 4: Tackling climate change (sub-goal 4.1: Ensure that marine environment protection measures contribute to adaptation to climate change and its mitigation); Strategic objective 5: Implementation of general measures to achieve a good state of marine environment (sub-goal 5.1: Ensure that general measures will contribute to the improvement of the situation marine environment).
