Regulation on the conditions regarding the professional and technical competence of biomonitoring operators of chemicals and their degradation products and on the procedure for determining the fulfillment of the conditions.

This Regulation here specifies the professional and technical conditions that must be met by all operators of biomonitoring of chemicals and their degradation products in humans and organisms in the environment, as well as the procedure for determining the fulfillment of these conditions. Biomonitoring providers must meet the following professional conditions: for the field of biomonitoring of chemicals in humans, they employ an expert with at least a higher education in natural sciences, qualified to make a risk assessment for human health and with relevant references in the field of biomonitoring; for the field of biomonitoring of chemicals in organisms in the environment, they have an employed expert with at least a higher education in natural sciences, qualified to make a risk assessment for organisms in the environment and with relevant references in the field of biomonitoring; they have work experience in planning, preparing and implementing programs in the field of chemical monitoring and their residues in organisms; they have access to scientific and research information on the health and ecological condition of the population or wildlife and the state of environmental pollution in the Republic of Slovenia; they know the regulations and guidelines in the field of monitoring chemicals in the environment and in organisms, or implement and use them; depending on the part of the biomonitoring program that they implement, they employ qualified workers to handle chemical biomonitoring data and for their processing and safe storage. Performers of biomonitoring must meet the technical conditions for work in the field of biological sample analysis (standards) as listed in article 3.
