Regulation on the identification and registration of pigs.

This Regulation of the Minister of Agriculture and the Environment, which is composed of 23 articles, lays down the method of identification and registration of pigs, monitoring of the movement of pigs, the way of keeping the central register of pigs, holding register of pigs, register of breeders of pigs, and the way of the maintenance of databases in the field of animal husbandry. The present Regulation also establishes: (1) the competent authority, form and method of supplying ear tags and reporting on the origin, labeling and holding of destination in accordance with Council Directive 2008/71/EC on the identification and registration of pigs; (2) the method of registration of holdings in accordance with Commission Decision 2000/678/EC laying down detailed rules for registration of holdings in national databases for porcine animals as foreseen by Council Directive 64/432/EEC; (3) the derogation in respect of holdings with a single pig in accordance with Council Directive 92/102/EEC on the identification and registration of animals.
