Abstract
This Regulation determines the procedures and way of working, as well as security and other measures for finding, securing, detecting, identifying, removing, transporting and destroying unexploded ordnance (also called UXO) and records of protection against UXO. UXO are assets that remained as a result of war operations in the territory of the Republic of Slovenia and other explosive assets lying freely in the natural environment, which are filled with explosives or explosive mixtures and threaten the safety of people and property. UXO can be fired, unfired, dumped, buried, submerged, moved or stored. Explosive devices that are: the subject of criminal acts or misdemeanors and other assets handed over to the police are not the result of past war activities; military assets used by the Slovenian Army or other military formations during exercises or other forms of training. The Administration of the Republic of Slovenia for Protection and Rescue organizes, equips and trains the UXO Protection Unit at the national level as a Civil Protection Unit and ensures the working conditions of its members units in the implementation of UXO protection measures. Protection against UXO is carried out by members of the National Unit for Protection against UXO, who have the authorization of the Minister of Defence for protection against UXO. Members of the National UXO Protection Unit perform UXO protection professionally or on the basis of being assigned to relevant duties in accordance with the law governing protection against natural and other disasters.
