Resolution on the national program for chemical safety with action plans for priority areas in the period 2006-2010.

This Resolution here adopts the National program for chemical safety with action plans for priority areas for the planned initial period form the year 2006 until the year 2010. The stated long-term strategic goal is to contribute to the implementation of the International Strategy for the Management of Chemicals (SAICM), which was adopted in Dubai at a meeting from 4 to 6 February 2006 and which was also signed by Slovenia. According to the SAICM strategy, by 2020, chemicals should be produced and used in such a way that the risk to human health and the environment is reduced as much as possible. Program specific objectives are: 1: To improve the health of the population and the quality of the environment by ensuring chemical safety; 2. To provide conditions for the implementation and control of measures and activities to improve chemical safety; 3. To strengthen the role of the Republic of Slovenia in ensuring chemical safety at the international level.
