Rules on Integrated Production of Arable Crops, Vegetables, Hops, Fruit, Olives, and Grapes.

These Rules establish mandatory standards for integrated production across six agricultural categories: arable crops, vegetables, hops, fruit, olives, and grapes. They define the agronomic, technical, and ecological requirements required to produce under the protected scheme. The Rules unify formerly separate sectoral acts into a single legal document to govern integrated agricultural practices throughout the territory of the Republic of Slovenia.
Producers participating in the scheme must adhere to specific technological guidelines tailored to each crop group, as outlined in the Annexes to the Regulation. The Rules mandate strict crop rotation schedules, balanced fertilization based on compulsory soil testing, and the maintenance of permanent soil cover. Integrated Pest Management serves as a core requirement, requiring non-chemical, biological, and physical plant protection methods to take precedence over chemical applications. The use of genetically modified organisms or products derived from them is prohibited.
Agricultural holdings entering the scheme are required to register all designated parcels in the official land registry and maintain daily, audit-ready operational records. These logs must document crop selections, seed origins, fertilization inputs, irrigation details, harvest quantities, and the exact application of permitted plant protection products. Physical and administrative segregation must be maintained at all times during cultivation, harvest, transport, storage, and sale to prevent mixing certified produce with conventional crops.
An annual inspection and certification system oversees compliance through independent authorized control bodies. Certification involves announced and unannounced on-site audits, record reviews, and official laboratory testing of soil and plant samples for pesticide residues. Producers who meet all regulatory standards are granted an annual certificate permitting the use of the official protected mark "integrirani" on their packaging and marketing materials. Non-compliance, failure to maintain required logs, or the presence of unauthorized chemical residues results in the immediate denial or revocation of the certificate.
