Abstract
This Act establishes conditions for the production of foodstuffs, their processing and marketing. It aims at ensuring consumer protection and to this end it sets up an inspection system. This Act regulates: (a) obligations of the food business operator in order to promote and protect human health and protect consumer in the food market; (b) rights and obligations of persons in relation to food; (c) organization, scope and competence of the official food control authorities.
The consolidated text is composed of the following Sections: (1) Introductory provisions; (2) Foodstuffs; (4) Competences of inspection authorities; (5) Organization of foodstuffs inspection; (6) Penalties; (7) Common, temporary and final provisions.
