Abstract
The Act, which is composed of ten Sections and three Annexes, establishes conditions and procedures concerning the collection and dissemination of environmental information by public authorities and other legal entities specified in this Act. Environmental information is defined as any information contained in texts, graphical, audiovisual, electronic or any other material support and concerning the information specified in article 2. The Act sets up the national register of polluting substances released into the environment, which is a database containing information received periodically from enterprises running the activities specified in Annex 1. The register contains information on emissions of the polluting substances specified in Annex 2. Annex 3 contains the list of European Community regulations implemented by this Act.
