Abstract
This Act, which is composed of 42 articles, regulates: (a) the competence of state administration bodies to provide support to agriculture and rural development; (b) the competence of state administration bodies concerning provision of subsidies to agriculture and rural development; (c) the procedure and conditions of subsidies; (d) the rights and obligations of persons concerning the subsidies; (e) agricultural advisory system; (f) details on direct support; (g) liability for breaching obligations established by this Act. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of the Slovak Republic and the Paying Agency are the bodies of state administration responsible for granting support and subsidies. The agricultural advisory system is the system of advisory services for agriculture and forestry that provides transfer of results of science and research into practice with the aim of improving the management of agricultural holdings and forestry enterprises while respecting the requirements for sustainable agriculture and forestry.
