Abstract
The purpose of this Act to to establish measures for protecting plants against the introduction and spread of harmful organisms and harmful factors. The present Act, which is composed of 44 articles and one Annex, lays down: (a) competences of authorities dealing with plant protection; (b) obligations of persons in the field of plant protection, (c) phytosanitary measures against the introduction of organisms harmful to plants or plant products and against their spread; (d) the conditions for the approval of active substances, safeners and synergists, marketing, use and control of plant protection products; (e) conditions for testing the biological efficacy of plant protection products in accordance with the principles of good experimental practice; (f) conditions of registration, use and control of equipment used for plant protection; (g) penalties for violation of obligations established by this Act.
