Abstract
This Decree of the Ministry of Environment, which is composed of 30 articles and six Annexes, sets out rules concerning biotechnologies and the use of genetically modified organisms. The present Decree regulates details of: (a) environmental risk assessment of the use of genetic technologies and genetically modified organisms; (b) requirements for the enclosure in which the genetic technologies and genetically modified organisms are used, the procedure and criteria for classifying the use of genetic technologies and genetically modified organisms in risk classes and the content of protection levels; (c) the procedure for evaluating the direct and indirect, immediate and consequential effects and potential long-term effects of the release of the GMO to the environment and for analyzing the cumulative potential long-term effects of the GMO on humans and the environment; (d) the content and documentation of the use of genetic technologies and genetically modified organisms; (e) the content of the emergency plan; (f) the content of the report on the result of the introduction of genetically modified organisms into the environment; (g) properties of individual notifications and the assessment of their content; (h) properties of applications for the issuance of consent; (i) the content of the evaluation report; (j) safety criteria for genetically modified micro-organisms.
