Abstract
Regulations to provide for various matters relating to commercial and non-commercial fishing in fishery waters of Sierra Leone.
The 43 regulations are divided into 11 Parts: Preliminary (I); Fisheries Management Areas (II); Artisanal and recreational fishing registration (III); Identification and vessels (IV); Industrial fishing licenses (V); Transhipment (VI); Navigational charts and aids (VII); Fishing logs, reports and inspections (VIII); Gear stowage, fixed gear, fish aggregating devices (IX); On-shore fish processing and marketing (X); Offence, fines and penalties (XI).
Fisheries waters of Sierra Leone shall be divided into the Inshore Exclusion Zone and the remainder of the fishery waters. The Inshore Exclusion Zone shall be reserved for artisanal and recreational fishing only (reg. 2). Industrial fishing licenses may be granted to local and foreign fishermen (reg. 8).
