Abstract
The present Decree establishes sanitary requirements to be met in the production and placing on the market of raw milk, heat-treated milk, milk destined to the production of milk-based products, and milk-based products intended for human consumption. The Decree consists of five Chapters dealing with hygienic and sanitary requirements to be met during the production of the above-mentioned products. Milk and milk-based products originating in third countries may be imported as long as they meet such requirements (art. 11). Ionizing radiation is prohibited on milk and milk-based products (art. 6). The three annexes attached lay down the higienic conditions which must be fulfilled by establishments engaged in the production and processing of these products, as well as transport and storage.
