Abstract
The present Act lays down the general principles and rules which govern the hygiene of foods and beverages intended for human consumption as well as the checks to be performed. The measures hereby established shall apply, inter alia, to (i) establishments where foods and beverages are manufactured, processed or packaged, (ii) storages, (iii) means of transport. Titles I and II lay down general principles and general provisions respectively. Title III deals with inspection, giving particular regard to the functions which are entrusted to the Environmental Hygiene Service (art. 9). All the activities covered by this Act shall be subjected to a sanitary authorization (art. 10). Article 12 sets out sanctions.
