Abstract
This Law is composed of eight Chapters divided in 87 articles. It provides basic legislation on fisheries, defining main principles undergoing the conservation, use and management of fisheries, with the aim of assuring biological diversity, protection of species and, at the same time, a sustainable development of the sector. In particular, the Law defines requirements for fishing vessels (both national and foreign) activities within national waters and regulates fishing licenses and authorizations. Particular attention is paid to the quality of fishing products and to control procedures. Finally, the Law rules on applicable sanctions and penalties.
