Resolution No. 17/T of 2003 defining conditions and requirements for the issuance of licences for ostrich-breeding and fattening farms.

This Resolution is composed of 21 articles. The Ministry of Agriculture shall issue licences for ostrich breeding and fattening farms upon defined conditions and requirements (art. 1). Article 2 provides for the establishment of a technical committee in each province formed experts and specialists with the competence to inspect farms. Ostrich breeding and fattening farms also include hatching centres (art. 4). The Competent Technical Offices shall have the right to inspect and enter in any farm (art. 8). Requirements and conditions for closing farms are given in article 9. Importation and exportation of hatching eggs, chickens, birds and meat shall be prohibited unless authorizations from the Ministry of Agriculture are obtained (art. 10). Article 11 deals with conditions and requirements for the revocation or annulment of licences (art. 11). All ostrich breeding or fattening farms are subject to the technical control (art. 12). Transgressors shall be punished by Law No. 14/1975 and amendments (art. 20).
