Resolution No. 6112 defining technical, general and sanitary conditions and requirements for the establishment of industries for the processing of remains from poultry slaughterhouses and incubators not destined for human consumption.

Abstract
This Resolution provides for technical, general and sanitary requirements and conditions necessary for the establishment of industries for the processing of remains from poultry slaughterhouses and incubators. General conditions and requirements aiming at protecting the workers in the aforementioned industries, at obtaining a product of good quality and preventing the diffusion of diseases, are the following: (a) the industry must be established at least 1.5 km from protected areas, and architectural and expansion planning; (b) these industries shall be settled in the opposite direction of the wind in the zone; (c) the installations must be surrounded by an external fence 2 metres high and with an internal barrier of forest trees; (d) the industry must be divided into two, one part for raw materials and the other for deposits and processing equipment; (e) the installation must be provided with a good lighting; (f) technical measures shall be taken in order to prevent the spreading of bad odours; (g) the means used for the transportation of raw materials must be hermetically closed; (h) the treatment of waste water shall be done through technical methods; (i) structure disinfection shall be done periodically; and, (j) disinfection of the raw material deposits shall be performed daily (art. 2). Technical requirements for the establishment of the aforementioned industries are given in article 3. Articles 4 and 5 provide for sanitary, chemical and physical requirements and conditions for the aforementioned industries. Industries must have a veterinarian as a technical director subjected to the technical inspection and control directly from the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation (art. 6). The Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, Animal Health Department, is the competent authority for the issuance of licences (art. 7). Labelling provisions are set out in article 8.
