Announcement of the Department of Fisheries on the criteria and procedure for the appointment of a member of a local fishing community organisation for assistance to the competent official’s in performance of duties under the Royal Fisheries Ordinance.

These Rules, issued by the Director-General of the Department of Fisheries under section 106 of the Fisheries Ordinance of 2015, set out criteria for the qualification of a member of a local fishing community organisation registered pursuant to section 25(2) to assist in the performance of duties of the competent official and specify the procedures for appointment, which shall be on application by the Director-General of the Department of Fisheries upon proposal of the Provincial Fisheries Office. The Rules also provide for training and of the appointed person and prescribe the duties to be carried out and conduct to be kept. The Provincial Fisheries Office shall make a register of the list of appointed assistants.
