Announcement of the Department of Fisheries on the issue of a seaman certificate to a seaman who is not a Thai national.

This Announcement, issued by the Director-General of the Department of Fisheries under section 83 of the Fisheries Ordinance of 2015 concerns a document for foreigners that work on board of Thai fishing vessels. These foreigners shall obtain a document in the form as set out in the Schedule to this Announcement. A seaman must hold a seaman document issued under the law on navigation in Thai waters. In the case of a seaman who is not a Thai national, a permit to remain in the Kingdom under the law on immigration and a work license under the law on working of aliens must also be obtained. The document shall only be validc for working on board the fishing vessel specified in the document and only during the period specified therein.
