Abstract
This Law establishes legal and organizational grounds for ensuring plant quarantine, including phytosanitary arrangements preventing introduction, originating and spreading of pests, diseases and weeds. The Act consists of 5 Sections divided into 22 articles: (1) general provisions;(2) authorized state body in the sphere of phytosanitary control and plant quarantine; (3) ensuring plant quarantine; (4) international cooperation; and (5) conclusive provisions. In case of identification of contamination of materials, subject to quarantine inspection, by pests, the authorized state plant quarantine body shall submit proposals related to establishment of phytosanitary area and application of phytosanitary quarantine regime thereto. Materials, subject to quarantine phytosanitary inspection and resulting free of pests, shall be authorized for import to, export from and transit on the national territory. Contaminated planting materials, imported to the national territory, shall be subject to compulsory disinfection.
