Abstract
This Law defines legal, economic and organizational basis of the poultry farming and regulates the relations related to its activities. Poultry farming is an industry whose mission is to breed, keep and use different species and breeds of poultry for the production of eggs, meat, feathers, down and other products. These birds include chickens, turkeys, ducks, geese, guinea pigeons, quails, meat pigeons, ostriches. The powers of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan in the field of poultry farming includes: (a) definition of the uniform state policy in poultry industry; (b) adoption of normative legal acts on regulation and development of poultry farming; (c) definition of the authorized body in poultry industry; (d) definition of the basic directions of the international cooperation in the field of poultry farming; and (e) other powers defined by normative legal acts. The authorized body has the following powers: (a) implementation of unified state policy in the field of poultry farming; (b) development and implementation of programs for the development of the poultry farming; (c) assistance in the development of poultry sector science and the widespread introduction of scientific and technological achievements in the field of poultry farming; (d) provision of legal protection of facilities and subjects of the poultry farming; (e) development and approval of regulations related to activities in the field of poultry farming, methods and techniques for assessing and accounting for bird populations; (f) approval and maintenance of the register of bird species, breeds and crosses, preservation and improvement of genetic and productive properties of birds; and (g) information support of the industry development. Natural persons and legal entities operating in the field of poultry farming are required to comply with the established procedures and rules for keeping, feeding, and growth of birds and veterinary requirements, and to maintain the provided premises and equipment in proper technical, sanitary and environmental condition. This Law contains 3 Chapter divided into 13 Articles. Chapter 1 lays down general provisions. Chapter 2 regards management and organization of poultry farming. Chapter 3 lays down final provisions.
