Abstract
This Law determines legal, social and economic relations at the stages of procurement, processing, transportation, storage, trade of foodstuffs, materials, commodities and their ingredients, as well as packages and auxiliary materials between manufacturer, trader and consumer for the purpose of implicit ensuring the realization of the rights of physical and legal persons to purchase ecologically friendly, qualitative, safe and valuable foodstuffs, materials and commodities, including dietetic food, infant food and biologically active additives. The document consists of V Sections that contain 28 Articles. Sec.I (arts. 1-6) lays down general provisions. Sec.II (Arts.7-8) establishes plenary powers of the Government and authorized institutions in the field on ensuring quality and safety of foodstuffs. Sec.III (Arts.9-14) regards state regulation in the field of ensuring quality and safety of foodstuffs. Sec.IV (Arts.15-25) specifies general requirements for ensuring quality and safety of foodstuffs. Sec.V (Arts.26-28) establishes liability for the infringement of the present Law.
