Order No. 31 of the Ministry of Agriculture validating the Regulation on the procedure and forms of registration of agricultural breeding animals.

This Order establishes the procedure and forms of registration of farm breeding animals. Purebred farm animals shall be considered all types of purebred livestock, poultry, fish, cocoons, bees, which are bred by humans and are directly related to agricultural production. The objectives of the registration of breed of farm animals are: (a) protection of the interests of the state from the import and use of accidental and low-quality breeds; (b) assistance in the introduction of new high-quality breeds and varieties into production, either of national or foreign breeds; (c) ensuring free choice of breed and type of pedigree agricultural animals by livestock breeders and producers of agricultural commodities of animal origin; (d) ensuring proper maintenance of pedigree farm animals throughout their entire period of use; and (e) ensuring correct naming of commercial and protected breeds of pedigree farm animals. The activity of the system of accounting and protection of pedigree farm animals is under the control of the Ministry of Agriculture. The Ministry regulates the activity of the system of accounting and protection of farm animals. The authorized body shall conduct official tests of new breeds of farm animals that are bred in the conditions of Tajikistan and are of economic importance. The list of these breeds of livestock is contained in Appendix 1. The document establishes the list of documents to be submitted to the competent registration authority, the procedure for submittal and examination of the submitted documentation and the issuance of certification for pedigree breeds.
