Abstract
This Decree-Law approves the composition, powers, and functioning of the National Youth Development Council (CNDJ). The CNDJ is an advisory body to the member of the Government responsible for youth affairs and coordination between the various public and private institutions involved in youth development activities. The Council has the following objectives: a) Coordinate and advise youth programmes among the different public and private institutions involved in youth development activities; b) Increase opportunities through communication between youth representatives and the national public and private sectors to create job opportunities for young people and promote self-employment; c) Monitor the implementation of National Youth Action Plans within the framework of the key strategies established in the National Youth Policy approved by the Government, analyse and evaluate the results of the programmes and activities to be implemented; d) Propose and coordinate activities aimed at promoting the health of young people; e) Issue opinions, at the request of the member of the Government responsible for Youth, on any issues that may be relevant to Youth; f) Prepare studies and annual reports; g) Any other powers assigned to it by law or regulation.
