Abstract
This Decree-Law, consisting of 9 articles, approves the Regulation on Industry and Trade of Foodstuff. This Regulation, consisting of 7 Chapters, establishes the requirements and norms to be satisfied by any commercial, industrial or service activity, related to foodstuff. This Regulation establishes the basic norms to be satisfied for animal slaughtering, transformation, production, packaging, storage, transport, distribution, marketing and commercialization of any foodstuff. It specifies food stuff hygiene and sanitary controls to be carried out by the competent authority, which will apply measures to guarantee food security and safety. Offences and penalties will be regulated by Decree-Law No. 23/2009.
