Decree-Law No. 48/2020 adopting Measures to Support Families, through the attribution of “Basic Basket”, and to Local Economic Operators, within the scope of the Economic Recovery Plan, and creates a Special Provisioning Regime for this purpose.

This Decree-Law, consisting of 18 articles, aims at adopting Measures to Support Families, through the granting of “Basic Basket”, and to Local Economic Operators, within the scope of the Economic Recovery Plan, and creates a Special Provisioning Regime for this purpose. In particular, it establishes support measures for agricultural producers and commercial operators of food and personal hygiene products in the perspective of short-term economic stimulus and incentive to production and trade, within the scope of the Economic Recovery Plan, under Government Resolution No. 28/2020 approving the Short-Term Measures to Mitigate the Impacts of the Economic Crisis Resulting from the Covid-19 Pandemic. Further, it establishes the mechanisms and conditions for the implementation of such measures creating a provisioning regime in the scope of the granting of basic baskets, specifically regulating the composition, beneficiaries, amount and distribution period of the basic basket of essential food and personal hygiene products or a shopping voucher attached to the corresponding goods and same value, as well as financing, implementation and accountability.
