Decree-Law No. 48/2024 on the Community Revitalisation Programme.

This Decree-Law approves the legal framework for the Community Revitalisation programme, aimed to promote the economic and social development of rural communities and the empowerment of their members by providing support for: a) Productive economic activities, particularly in the trade, industry and cooperative sectors; b) Social and economic infrastructure in rural areas. The implementation of the programme follows the following principles: a) Integration, through the harmonisation and coordination of activities supported by the National Juice Development Programme; b) Community participation, through the active involvement of communities in all stages; c) Volunteering, through the participation of most community members in carrying out activities without financial compensation; d) Sustainability, through the use of materials and techniques and training in environmentally responsible practices; e) Gender equality, through proportionally balanced participation in decision-making processes; f) Social inclusion, through the adoption of solutions and practices that do not exclude people with disabilities, the elderly and children; g) Transparency and accountability, through the creation and maintenance of channels of communication with the community for the provision and collection of information relating to the implementation of the programme.
