Law No. 140-V “On consumer protection”.

This Law establishes organizational, legal and socio-economic basis of the state policy in the sphere of consumer protection. It regulates the issues of retail purchase and sale of commodities in accordance with purchase and sale contracts. State policy in the sphere of consumer protection is aimed at: (a) protection of rights and legal interest of the consumers; (b) improvement of legal basis related to consumer protection; and (c) ensuring provision of the consumers with high quality commodities and services. In order to protect their interests the consumers shall be authorized to set up voluntary consumer associations. State bodies, through their competent representatives shall exercise control and inspection in the sphere of consumer protection.
