Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the Republic of Turkey and the Government of Republic of Tunisia on cooperation in the field of environment.

By the Decree No. 2018/11576 of the Council of Ministers of 26 March 2018, the Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the Republic of Turkey and the Government of Republic of Tunisia on cooperation in the field of environment has been approved. The Parties agree upon cooperation on (i) environmental management, including integrated waste and wastewater management, coastal zone management, management of marine area, pollution control, air quality management, environmental noise management, disaster risk reduction and management, chemicals management and management of contaminated sites, (ii) clean production and sustainable consumption, including recycling of wastewater and pollution control, (iii) environmental compliance chain, including EIA, environmental permit and licensing procedures, environmental audit and environmental monitoring, (iv) biodiversity conservation, particularly in protected areas, (v) environmental information systems, and (vi) environmental awareness and capacity building. The Parties shall develop cooperation by exchange of information, researchers, consultants and experts, and by developing projects. The Parties may organize meetings, training programs, conferences, symposia and scientific and technical visiting programs. A Joint Committee shall be established to ensure efficient implementation of cooperation under this MoU. This MoU may be amended by mutual written consent. The dispute may be solved through negotiation. This MoU shall be valid for one year and may be extended for successive period of one year unless terminated by written notice requiring six months.
