Abstract
These Regulations declare vanilla beans to be a fruit for purposes of the Fruit Export Act (cap. 116), prescribe rules relative to harvesting, curing and quality of vanilla beans and labelling of vanilla and declare that the Fruit Regulations of 1934 shall not apply to vanilla beans.
Green vanilla beans and cured vanilla beans shall be of a grade as prescribes by these Regulations and the various grades shall meet quality standards prescribed for each grade. The Regulations also provide for registration of vanilla growers by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, inspection of green vanilla by inspectors appointed by the Ministry and prescribe rules for buying of vanilla beans.
