Abstract
This Act establishes the Ports Authority as a body corporate for the purpose of managing and operating the ports and assets in the Schedule to this Act, and any other ports under this Act, and assigns functions and powers to the Authority.
The Authority shall operate ports assigned to it and regulate and coordinate activities in such ports. The Act also prohibits the pollution of waters of a port. The Authority may make Standing Orders or Codes of Practice in respect port operations including reception facilities as required by the International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution at Sea (MARPOL).
