Abstract
The Principal Act is amended as follows: (i) by repealing in section 2 the definitions of "fish", "fishery", "fishing", "foreign fishing craft", "Tongan Fishing craft" and other definitions relating to fisheries; (ii) by repealing sections 10 to 25 inclusive; (iii) by repealing subsections (2) and (3) of Section 27; (iv) introducing minor amendments in section 30 and some other sections. The repealed sections provided for the regulation of (foreign) fishing in the Exclusive Economic Zone, regulating matters such as total allowable catch, catch quotas and matters of enforcement. These matters are now provided for in the Fisheries Act, 1989.
