Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Türkiye and the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the cooperation in the field of mining.

The Parties agree on the effective use of mineral resources for effective protection and sustainable development in accordance with the national legislation of the Parties and the rules and principles of international law. The fields of cooperation are: (I) increasing the transparency and reliability of the studies carried out in mineral exploration, research and production, examining the best practices for the efficient use and protection of mineral deposits; (II) sharing of knowledge and experience through joint studies and training programs in the exploration of mineral resources and geological researches; (III) sharing of knowledge and experience for the efficient and effective use of geothermal energy potential; (IV) sharing of scientific and industrial statistics on the development of mineral resources, including scientific and governmental institutions; (V) international recognition of the mineral properties extracted as a result of mining activities and the activities of the Parties in the relevant institutions and organizations in the field of mining; (VI) providing training to mining experts working in the relevant institutions; and (VII) conducting joint studies on metallic minerals within the scope of a production sharing agreement to be signed. The Parties agree on establishing a Joint Mining Study Group. The dispute may be solved through consultation or negotiation between the Parties. The Parties may make amendments to this Agreement by mutual written consent. This Agreement shall be valid for five years and may be extended for successive period of five years unless terminated by written notice requiring six months through diplomatic channels.
